Enamel Pin Grading

shiinapop's enamel pin grading guide

Please keep in mind that enamel pins are fully handmade products, and therefore may have slight variations in the production outcome. This grading guide exists for you to have an idea of how I will be grading each pin.

A-grade pin: A perfect or near-perfect pin

An A-grade pin may still have:

  • Very minor scratches, discolouration, tarnishing, specks, under or over-filling of colour
  • Barely noticeably imperfections, such as dust in the enamel
  • Very lightly scuffed plating on the front or back of the pin

B-grade pin: May have more noticeable defects

A B-grade pin may more noticeable imperfections such as:

  • Scratches, discolouration, tarnishing, specks, under or over-filling of colour
  • Scuffed plating on both the front or back
C-grade pin: Noticeable defects

  • Scratched, scuffed on both the front or back
  • Noticeable over or under-filled colour
  • Missing colour fill
  • Bubbles, dust, specks

B and C-grade pins will be discounted because of the imperfections.
